Band Info
Colin was born in Cricklewood, London. He formed his own band in the mid 60's and by chance played his first gig back in Cricklewood. The band playedDixieland music with an assortment of guests from from various styles including Joe Daniels, PhilSeamaen, Freddy Cole(Nat's brother), Joe Harriet, Colin Smith, Judith Durham, andMie Cotton. At that time, he mainly played soprano saxophone and wore an old,ill-fitting, ragged raincoat and consequently, was known as "The Coat". Did various tourswith the Paramount Jazz andwhen Acker was ill). Over the years, Colincontinued leading various small groups, both in the UK, and in California, USA. In 1990's Colin returned to studying piano and from then on mainly played keyboard with groups led by Ian Christie, Kenny Ball, Wally Fawkes, Brian White and Alan Gresty. Joinded Laurie Chescoe's Reunion Band in September 2010.
