Peter Morcom - Tenor Banjo. Peter became involved with jazz in his teens when he heard a Jelly Roll Morton record played on the wireless. He discovered Bunk Johnson some weeks later: so began an interest in New Orleans music. He became friends with John Bastable, who encouraged his tenor banjo playing to the extent that he was able to dep for John in the Ken Colyer Band. Highlights in Peter’s musical career include broadcasting with Alton Purnell and playing a gig with Lil Armstrong when she visited England in the 1960’s
