Band Info
Keith Durston – Piano (occasional slide-whistle). Keith played piano with Frog Island Jazz Band for over 45 years. His piano style has been described as a mixture of Lovie Austin, Lil Hardin, Jimmy Blythe and Clarence Williams with a large dose of Jelly Roll Morton. He has played with Swedish Jazz Kings from time to time over the last 25 years and has recorded with, as Hump once described him “the curiously named Bent Persson” one of the world’s great Armstrong style cornet players. Keith also played for a while with Dave Price’s Ragtime Orchestra and backed Dave at concerts at the Purcell Rooms to display Dave’s considerable banjo skills.
