Sid Bennett – Banjo – Sid started his jazz career at art school in the early 50’s, firstly playing clarinet, moving on to the guitar and subsequently to the banjo. As well as playing with other art school musicians, Sid was with the Ian Bells Band for many years, broadcasting with them on the BBC Jazz Club and making records (Tele with Temps). He then toured Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia with the early Temperance Seven. Long gap for domestic reasons and then joined Big AL’s Jazzers and completed ten month-long tours of South of France and short tours to Israel, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Spain. As well as commercial work – supermarket promotions etc. He played at the Trafalgar in Wimbledon for three years before joining the Lord Napier Jazz Band.
