Russell Bennett - Trombone. Russell is Richard’s younger brother. When the boys grew up they were surrounded by music. The brothers are the sons of pianist, vocalist and trombonist Martin Bennett who played with Phil Mason’s New Orleans All Stars. It was not just their father who had an interest in music. Their mum is an incredible classical pianist who travelled the country participating in competitions in her early twenties. Jennifer Bennett now occasionally appears alongside the two brothers. When Russell first started playing with Richard he played the banjo but has now stepped in his father’s footsteps and can be seen playing the trombone.
