Alan Cugnoni - I started playing tenor banjo in 1955 in the North London area for Pete Abrams' Cardinal Jazzmen along-side such rhythm, musicality and that must have ingredient, melody. stalwarts a Jim Hurd, Tony Farr. Moved to Bedford 1965 joined forces with local musicians based in Cambridge including Barry Palser, The Bacon Brothers you name e’m. Day time job took me to Norwich 1971 again searching out & playing with musicians in the local the scene & forming mid 70’s my own Tuxedo Jazz Band with such great guys as Colin Bowden, Jack Cudworth (Phil Butler) Mike Leigh, finally going with the Sole Bay Jazz Band with Fred Ward & Tim Densham, still playing a regular weekly session with Sole Bay & happy to help any other bands to make my contribution to keep our music alive.
